    JOHN WILLIAMSEN John Williamsen. 83, died at his home in Seattle Feb. 10. acording to word received here. He formerly was a resident of Appleton and was one of the first settlors in the villiage of Little Chute to which he came in 1848 accompanying the Rev. Theodore Vandenbrock. Surviving relatives are his widow, eight children: Mrs. John Hammen, Mrs. Joseph Ganson, Mrs. Theodore Weyenberg. Mrs. Anna VanGomple, William Williamsen, all of Little Chute; Mrs. George Hammen of Kimberly, Henry Williamson of Solena, Calif.; John Williamsen of DePere; one brother, George Williamsen of Little Chuto: one sistor. Mrs. R. Weyenberg, of DePere; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

    SOURCE: TILLY HELBERS-WEYENBERG Henricus died 1856 in the USA. Also called Weijenberg or Weijenbergh. In the USA he was called Henry Sr. In 1846 he lived in Beugen, Noord Brabant, Netherlands. According to list Den Haag; Henricus van de Weijenberg, 70 years of age, linen- weaver, mingeroed, charge for FO, 40, with his third wife and three children, left for America from Beugen. He is also taken his children from his earlier marriages. A Henry Weyenberg is on a cedastral map from 1860. According to the census 1860 Freedom, Wisconsin:
    1) Henry Wenberg, 76 years old.
    2) Engelena, 63 years old. Henry Wenberg Jr. age 25 years and Hannah, age 22 years old, lived next to his son Martin Weijenberg. Henricus is widower of Anna Maria Aldenhuysen since 1816 and later of Johanna Linders. Henry Weijenberg set sail with his family on the Maria Magdalena with a group of Hollanders led by Father Theodore Van Den Broek on March 10,1848 f rom Rotterdam, reaching Ellis Island , New York two months later after a very stormy voyage. When immigrants landed in New York in May they sailed to Buffalo by way of the Erie Canal, then on through the Great Lakes. Ice j ams delayed their journey three weeks at the Mackinac Straits, but they finally reached Green Bay. Down the Fox River on flatboats they completed their long voyage, the women and children walking around the various rapids, loaded with luggage, while the men pushed the boats over the rapids with long poles. At last, on June 20, 1848 they came to the place known today as Little Chute Village. These families founded Hollandtown and also settled in Freedom Township.
