Alvin John Shanle, 76, of Albion died Friday, May 28, 2004, at home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion. The Rev. Frank Baumert will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery at Lindsay. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church, with a wake service at 8. Visitation will resume Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Shanle was born April 22, 1928, on a farm near Lindsay to Rudolph and Elizabeth (Wiese) Shanle. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife Dorothy (Eisenmenger) Shanle; four sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Betty, Terry and Suzette, Larry and Lisa, all of Genoa, and Tim and Amy of St. Edward; five daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Harry Wemhoff of Humphrey, Sue and Larry Mausbach of Lincoln, Mary and Mike Gregoryk of Camarillo, Calif., Janice and Dan Andersen of Eau Claire, Wis., and Cheryl and Jeff Staashelm of Omaha; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Loraine Snyder of Genoa, Berdelle Ludden of Lindsay, Betty and Ken Bender of Columbus; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Francis of Columbus, Raymond and Sheila of Crescent City, Calif. May 29, 2004 ALBION - Alvin J. Shanle, 76, of Albion died Friday, May 28, 2004, at home as a result of a stroke he suffered two weeks ago. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Albion, with the Rev. Frank Baumert officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery at Lindsay. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church, with a wake service at 8. Visitation will resume Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the service at the church. Levander Funeral Home in Albion is in charge of arrangements.
