  Family History Researcher	EMAIL have been emailling Mary Ann Scholl Vierthaler regarding our mutual inter est in the Scholl family. She said that you were very helpful and had gre at knowledge. My biggest interest is in Wilhelm Scholl and Anna Maria Gra ff and their family. Mary Ann is a descendant of John whom I'm tryi ng to make sure is a brother of Wilhelm. I have no proof. Most of my inf ormation about the German Scholls was from reading the Mormon tape on t he Civil registers. I have three sisters for Wilhelm, Gertrud, Agnes a nd Sibila and I have their families, but I can't find Wilhelm's birth regi ster or his father's, nor Anna's birth. Doesn't sound like I have much, d oes it? I have been lucky and finally found out about Wilhelm and Anna 's children: Philipp, a priest, Regina, a nun, Jacob a civil war veter an and John who was my great grandfather. He was the son of Wilhelm Scholl and Anna Ma ria Graff, b. March 9, 1833.Wilhelm and Anna had six children that I know of: Catherina b. 1832, d. 1 834 in Germany Johann Theodor, b. 1833, d. Feb. 15, 1912 Los Angeles Johann Joseph, b. 1835, d. 1836 in Germany Regina, b. Jan 30, 1837 in Borr, d. Dec. 31, 1882 in Indiana Philipp b. July 13, 1839 in Borr, d. Feb. 04, 1898 in KansasJacob Werner b. Sept. 23, 1841 in Borr, d. April 10, 1909 in Independenc e, Kansas. Maria Esser and Joannes Scholl are the parents of: Agnes Scholl, b. 1800, Wesseling Gertrud, b. 1802 Wilhelm Joseph Scholl, b. 1807 Germany, d. 1875-6 ? in Wisconsin ? Johann Scholl, b. 1813 Wesseling, d. 1891 Freedom, WI I found his marriage register signed by Wilhelm J. Scholl Anna Sibilla, b abt 1815 Wesseling, I have German registers of Agnes, Gertrud and Anna, but have not pursued t hem further, left them in Germany. Agnes had 7 children, married Jacob Ka der. Gertrud had 9 children, married Paulus Krings Anna had one child, married Wilford Schmitz.I picked out the above information by copying all the registers that we re signed by Wilhelm Joseph Scholl. He had a distinctive signature. The re may be more, but I haven't tried to find them.John married Anna Sophia Altendorf, Feb. 22, 1838 after their first chil d, Anna Catharina, was born, May 6, 1837 in Borr. They had 12 childre n. Wilhelm Joseph, Margaretha, Mathias were born in Germany. Anna Mari a, John, Carolyn, Gertrud, Philipp, Sibilla, Peter and Anna were born in T own of Belgium WI.I have no proof that John was in the same family as Wilhelm. I know Mar ia Esser's parents, but not her birth date. I do not know Wilhelm's paren ts or his birth date. I have not found any German register with Wilhelm 's name on it.I never could find an obit from Wisconsin for either Wilhelm or Anna, or e xact death dates.I got a nice story about Philipp, the Very Reverend, from a priest in Inde pendence, KS. He copied it from his book when we went to visit the chur ch and cemetery.I have looked at tapes of St. Mary's in Port Washington, but don't rememb er that I found much. I have not looked at baptismal records and do not k now how to start. I've spent most of my efforts trying to find recor ds on Regina. Written every place in Baltimore and several other place s. I finally hit the jackpot and got an answer from Sisters of the Holy C ross in Notre Dame. Now I'm going to try to find out about Gertrud whom Mary Ann believes went into a convent.I'm afraid if I write any more, I will lose it all on the computer. Thanks for any help you can give me.
