Mary C. (Hermus) Vanden Heuvel was called peacefully to Heaven at the age of 91, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. She was born July 22, 1920, to Cornelius and Anna (Ver Gowen) Hermus, in the Town of Oneida. On May 16, 1939, she married Norbert Vanden Heuvel. They lived in Seymour before moving to Green Bay in 1967. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Survivors include five daughters and five sons and their spouses, Patricia (Michael) Burke, De Pere; Marge (David) Bultman, Fish Creek; Mary Lou (Willard) Schuh, Freedom; Jane (Terry) Machut, Hartland; Christine (Steve) Desotelle, Little Chute; Daniel (Mary) Vanden Heuvel, Seymour; David (Nancy) Vanden Heuvel, Black Creek; Kenneth (Rose) Vanden Heuvel, Green Bay; Lee Vanden Heuvel, Winston Salem, N.C.; Thomas (Teresa) Vanden Heuvel, Green Bay; 31 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Rose (Harold) Hendricks; a sister, Antoinette Van Handel; a brother, John (Tillie) Hermus; a brother-in-law, Ed Klarner; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Hermus; and a brother-in-law, Joseph (Margaret) Vanden Heuvel. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert in 2000; one son, Allen; one grandchild, Mary Ellen Schuh; her parents; three brothers and seven sisters, James, Adrian, Anton, Jane, Nellie, Cora, Josephine, Betty, Anna and Theresa; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 915 Ivory St., Seymour, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Robert J. Kabat officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the Mass.
