  See Image Vandenberg, Quentin P.Quentin P. Vandenberg, age 85, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 27, 2004, at Ch erry Meadows Hospice. He was born Oct. 31, 1918, the youngest of 15 childr en, to the late Corneal and Magdalene (Blindauer) Vandenberg, in Freedo m, where he was a resident all of his life. Quin served with the U. S. Ar my from 1941-1945, with the Medical Corps, in the European Theatre, in Afr ica and Italy. Following his discharge, Quin, married Blanche P. Conr ad on April 25, 1946, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. He had be en employed by Miller Electric for 34 years retiring in 1984. Quin w as an avid Packer and Brewer fan and enjoyed playing cards and spending ti me with his family. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and t he Freedom VFW Post #7692.Survivors include his wife, Blanche P. Vandenberg; three sons and daughter s-in-law, Ken and Marlene Vandenberg, Freedom; Gary and Dawn Vandenberg, H ortonville; Daryl and Ginger Vandenberg, Little Chute; three daughters a nd two sons-in-law, Shirley and Charlie Kramer, Freedom; Darlene Davis; a nd special friend, Bruce Grant, Hortonville; Lavonne "Bonnie" and Dan Verb eten, Kimberly. "Grandpa" will be deeply missed by his 19 precious grandch ildren and their families; Shanna (Mike) Zahn, Shane (fiance, Brandy An n) Vandenberg; Jason (fiance, Jenny), Gale and Chris Vandenberg; Wendy (fi ance, Ed), Tracy and Kyle Vandenberg; Tina (Larry) Larsen, Jodi (Ross) Sch mechel, Kerry (Gary) Peterson, C.J. Kramer; Chad, Shawn, Bret Springstro h, Kelly (Todd) Schroeder; Nanette (John) Gerrits, Ryan Hooyman and Eric V erbeten. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren; a sister, Loret ta Malkowski, Valljo, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Harriet Conrad and E va Conrad, Freedom; and Mamie Conrad, Appleton; many dear nieces and nephe ws, countless neighbors and friends who will cherish Quin's legacy of li fe and love.Quin's son, Terry preceded him into heaven in 2000. Also welcoming him "ho me" are his brothers and sisters, members of Blanche's family and many oth ers whose lives were touched by Quin's unlimited love and gentleness.The funeral liturgy for Quentin will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2 004, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, County Trunk E, Freedom, with Fath er Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Frien ds will be received at the church from 3 P.M., Monday, until the time of t he service.
