  Mrs. Elizabeth Kennedy died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Ringwood at Ashland, this state, on Monday, Oct. 2nd at the age of seventy-two years, 6 months and 21 days. Elizabeth O'Connor was born in Milwaukee, March 11, 1844, and in 1861 came to Calumet County, locating with relatives in Stockbridge. The same year she was married to ex-sheriff Moses Kennedy and lived on a farm in the town of Chilton until 1869 when they moved to Depere where they remained two years and then moved to Neenah, remaining there until 1873 and then returned to their farm in Chilton town. On April 2, 1913, her husband died and a year later having disposed of their place Mrs. Kennedy and son, Joseph, moved to Rocky Point, Idaho, where the latter had purchased a tract of land. Some months ago her health began to fail and in July last she returned to Wisconsin and after a month's visit with her sister, Mrs. Mary Loftus, at Green Bay, she went to the home of her daughter where she gradually failed until death claimed her. During her long residence in Chilton town she held the respect and esteem of the community. She was a woman of a generous nature, kind and considerate towards her neighbors and friends and well liked by everyone. She believed strongly in education and took a deep interest in the educational advancement of the community, seeing to it that her children were given every advantage obtainable in this respect. She was a devout member of the Catholic church and a regular attendant of St. Augustine's church while a resident of Chilton. Her body was brought to this city on the morning train from Ashland, Wednesday and escorted to St. Augustine's church where services were conducted by Rev. Fr. J. E. Meagher, with interment in the family lot in St. Augustine cemetery. She is survived by a son, Joseph of Rocky Point, Wyoming, two daughters, Mrs. John Ringwood of Ashland and Mrs. Wm. Glosson of Rocky Point, Wyoming. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Daniel Lee of Milwaukee and Mrs. Mary Loftus of Green Bay and two brothers, Patrick O'Connor of Chicago and James O'Connor of St. Paul, Minn.
