  Brillion - Peter Kiefer, 89, a pioneer resident of Brillion, died last Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Bohman. He had been ill with pneumonia the past two weeks. Mr. Kiefer was born Oct. 13, 1846, at Luzemburg, Europe. When he was nine years of age he came to America with his parents, who settled on a farm near Belgium. In 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Steinmetz. The couple came to Brillion to make their home on a farm. In 1910 they moved to Black Creek and in 1921 his wife preceded him in death. In 1924 Mr. Kiefer returned to Brillion to reside with his daughter, Mrs. Frank Bohman, with whom he had been making his home ever since. The decedent was a charter member of St. Mary's Catholic Congregation at Brillion and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his death, six children, four sons, Adolph Kiefer, Chilton, Henry, Stanley, Alfred and Benedict Kiefer, Appleton; and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Bohman, Brillion and Mrs. Clara Eigenberger, Milwaukee. Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. M. J. Kraus officiated. Interment was in the Catholic Cemetery at Brillion. Chilton Times - February 27, 1936
