  Betty Jean (nee Hass) Biersteker, Shorewood, entered Eternal Life Thursday, November 12, 2009, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of 66 years to Joseph Biersteker. Dear mother of Ann Biersteker and Thomas (Nancy) Biersteker. Sister of Joy (James) DeBraal and Glenn (Phyllis) Hass. Grandmother of Elisabeth (Lee) Duensing and Pieter Biersteker. Great-grandmother of Otto and Anna Duensing. Betty is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Betty graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1941. She was an active volunteer in Kenya and Nigeria where she encouraged children to read and use the library. She participated in the Senior Olympics and was active as an honorary member of the Carolina Race Walking Club. A celebration of Betty's life will be held Sunday, November 15th at Christ Episcopal Church, 5655 N. Lake Dr., Shorewood. Betty's family will receive friends following the service. Memorials in Betty's name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 16655 W. Bluemound Rd. Suite 240, Brookfield, WI 53005-5935.
