  MRS. BORCHERDT, RESIDENT HERE 51 YEARS, DEAD Mother of F.C. Borcherdt Dies at Age of 84 Death claimed Mrs. Minnie Borcherdt, widow of the late Frederick Borcherdt, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Baetke, South Tenth street, last night, taking another of the early day settlers of the county. Mrs. Borcherdt, was 84 years of age and had been in failing health for some time. Mrs. Borcherdt was born in Germany June 18, 1829 and was married there and in 1856 came to America with her husband, the couple arriving here June 13 of that year and Mr. Borcherdt for years engaged in the contract and teaming business. Since the death of her husband some years ago Mrs. Borcherdt had made her home with her children, four of whom survive, being F.C. Borcherdt, Sr., this city, John, of Chicago, Mrs. Henry Baetke and Mrs. Lena Rolland, this city. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from St. John's church, Marshall street. Manitowoc Daily Herald, Wednesday, April 07, 1915, Page 1 SON CUT OFF IN MOTHER'S WILL, CONTESTS But Court Orders Borcherdt Will to be Probated Cut off with a $25 bequest in the will of his mother, the late Mrs. Maria Borchert, while three other children share equally in the estate, John Borcherdt of Chicago today contested the petition for probating of the will and a hearing was held in probate court. Judge Chloupek, in a ruling, admitted the will to probate. The contest was raised upon the grounds that Mrs. Borcherdt was incompetent, owing to age, to make a will and that undue influence had been exercised but the court held that there was no evidence to support the charges.
