  Jean A. Bowers, (nee Frank), Kaukauna, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born March 5, 1934 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Gordon and Mary (Van Dyke) Frank. On June 17, 1954, Jean married John "Jack" Bowers at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The couple lived in Kaukauna their entire married lives. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage together prior to his death on March 29, 2000. Jean loved cooking and loved watching the wildlife. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She is survived by 3 sons: Bruce (Bonita "Bonnie") Bowers, Kaukauna and their daughters, Heidi (Nels) Van Dyn Hoven and Becky (Adam) Spoehr, Dennis, Kaukauna and his children, Luke (special friend Leslie) and Laura (Josh) Nackers, and Allen "Elmer", Kaukauna; 3 great-grandchildren and "Baby Spoehr" on the way: Landen and Dominic Van Dyn Hoven and Lexi Bowers; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by husband, an infant daughter, Wanda Lou Bowers and 1 brother. The Mass of Christian Burial for Jean will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2013 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received on Monday directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Holy Cross Catholic Church in her name.
