  Patsy Lee Baird, age 62, of Appleton, formerly of Shiocton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Appleton Medical Center on February 14, 2009, following a brief illness. She was born on January 1, 1947, in New London, daughter of the late Lewis and Esther (Handschke) Baird. Pat lived most of her life in Shiocton prior to moving to her own apartment in Appleton. She was employed at Valley Packaging in Appleton. Pat was active in Special Olympics, enjoyed bowling, listening to her albums, putting together puzzles and going to McDonald's on West College Avenue in Appleton. Pat is survived by three sisters: Lois Klug, New London; Judy Plach, Black Creek; Sally (Carl) Holz, Shiocton; a brother, Jerry Baird and special friend Eydie, Kohler. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews: Le Roy (Barb) Klug, LeOnn Klug, Larry (Nancy) Klug, Lynna (Ed) Wangelin, Anna (Larry) Kettner, Amy (Bud) Kettner, David (Carol) Plach, Terri (Ron) James, Brenda (Mark) Hooyman, Karla (Gordon) Riehl, Wendy (Kevin) Mentzel, Jill (Terry) Harrington, Bill Baird, and Skeeter (Eric) Fahser; two aunts: Edna Mae Grawvunder, New London; Verna Baird, Clintonville; also cousins as well as many friends at Agape and Valley Packaging. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Lawrence Klug, a niece Penny Baird, and a great-niece Kelly Klug, and several aunts and uncles. Pat will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She left a lasting impression with all who knew her. The Funeral Service for Pat will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton with the Rev. Don Baumann officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery in New London. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pat's memory to Special Olympics of Wisconsin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at AMC ICU and 3rd floor, especially Juli and Danielle, staff and friends from Agape for all their support and love they have given Pat over the years and the staff and coworkers at Valley Packaging. Pat truly enjoyed life and all it had to offer. She loved her job and all of the friends she made throughout the years.
