  Joseph Frank Koelbl, age 90, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh on March 12, 2016. Joe was born in Outagamie County on June 12, 1925, son of the late Gilbert W. and Laura R. (Fox) Koelbl. He was a proud veteran of World War II serving in the Navy in the Pacific Theater. Joe married Donna M. Allen on June 26, 1948 in Oshkosh. They were married for over 66 years. Joe was employed by Kimberly-Clark for over 36 years until his retirement. Joe and Donna loved to travel and visited every continent and many different countries. He enjoyed bowling and golf leagues with his friends. Joe is survived by his children: Susan Baumgart of Sheboygan, Karen (David) DeBruin of Fond du Lac, James (Diane) of Madison, Mary (Gerald) Gutoski of Brookfield, Quinn (Dennis) Martinson of Appleton, Constance (Stanley) Schuster of Oshkosh, Thomas (Karen) of Oshkosh, Kristin (Jeffrey) Isham of Oshkosh, and Steven of Oshkosh; Grandchildren: Steven (Jennifer Christman) Weinert, Julie (Kyle Coots) Weinert, Katherine Baumgart, Michael DeBruin, Robert DeBruin, Alexandra Koelbl, James Gutoski, Jean (Jerome) Dunk, Joseph (Beth) Gutoski, Kevin Martinson, Kyle Martinson, Daniel Schuster, Matthew Schuster, Tyler Koelbl, Ryan Koelbl, Lauren Isham, Samuel Isham, Sophia Isham, and Adam Koelbl; Brothers: Gilbert and Edward Koelbl, both of Oshkosh; and further survived by 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna, his parents, Gilbert and Laura Koelbl, his brother Frank (Bernice) Koelbl, and four sisters: Mary (Oliver) Holmes, Helen (Collins) Whitehead, Edith (Eugene) Pilon, and Dorothy (Joseph) Ryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Joe on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Parish (St. Vincent site on the corner of Oregon St. and South Park Ave) in Oshkosh with the Reverend Matt Simonar as celebrant. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with full military honors. A visitation will be held at the church for family and friends on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers memorials in Joe's name may be given to "The Old Glory Honor Flight". Published in Appleton Post-Crescent on Mar. 20, 2016
