  Death of Fred Matzke Fred Matzke, a resident of Brown County for over forty years, died Saturday at his home in the town of DePere. The funeral was held Monday from St Mary's church, and was largely attended. Mr Matzke was born in Prussia in 1826. Shortly after his marriage in 1855 he and his wife sailed for America, finally landing in Green Bay. He farmed in the town of Bellevue for several years, but after serving in the civil war he located in the town of DePere, where he has since made his home. To Mr and Mrs Matzke were born the following children: August and Mathias of Glenmore; Annie (Mrs Victor Fonder) of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; Mary (Mrs Albert Radke), Milwaukee, Wis.; Rosa (Mrs Joseph Kaster), town of DePere; Paul, of town of DePere; Theresa (Mrs John Becher), of Preble; Sylvester, of Milbank, South Dakota; Elizabeth and Philip, at home.
