  Mrs. Fred Petersen (Edith Mathieu) 705 E. College Ave. Age 86, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday. She was born March 28, 1878 in Chicago and has been a resident of Appleton most of her life. She was a member of the First Congregational Church; Women's Fellowship; Elk's Ladies; Appleton Woman's Club and the Pan American League. Mrs. Petersen is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Harwood, Appleton; one step-son, Fred Petersen, Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Bartel Mathieu, Milwaukee. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Wichmann Funeral Home with Rev. Edward C. Dahl officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
