  Biography	Info comes from a relative of Ruth Crandall Rynders..Barbara O'Reilly..Edits from the Obituary of Walter C. Rynders. He was born in Gerry, Chautauqua Co.,NY. on Sept. 15,1834 and died at the home of his daughter,Mrs.L.A.Carroll on June 29, 1916. He moved to Ellington in October 1854 and made a piece of woodland into a farm where he resided until 1905. It was then that he moved to Hortonville where he resided until his' wife died in Dec 1913, since then he has resided with his daughter in Milwaukee. He was married to Maria Spencer on August 22, 1865, to them eight children were born, two deceaded and six surviving, Frank and Susie are deceased,Mrs' L.A. Carroll,Burt W..,Giles F., and Edward of Antigo and Homer J. and Ella E. of Shiocton,Mrs. Hattie Chappel of Antigo.Eighteen grand-children, twenty nieces and nephews survive. He answered his country's call in the days of the Civil War,enlisting in Aug,1862, mustered in at Oshkosh. He marched with Gen. T. Sherman to the Sea and was at the Grand Review at Washington, was discharged at Milwaukee on June 26, 1865. He attended the G.A.R. encampment at Ripon on June 14-16 when he became ill and returned home to his daughters in Milwaukee where he died a few days later. He was the son of John Radway Rynders and Ruth Crandall, he married in Berlin, Green Lake Co.,WI.on 22 August 1866.
