  Robert S. Visocky, age 82, New London, passed away unexpectedly following complications from surgery on November 23, 2011, at Appleton Medical Center. Robert was born on July 23, 1929, in New London son of the late Steve and Cercella (Burton) Visocky. At seventeen he joined the US Army and was stationed in Japan for the occupation. During that service he was in Military Government and enjoyed his work with the government and the people of Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1949 and worked in the New London and Fox Valley area until 1952. Robert then joined the Air Force and was stationed in French Morocco at an early warning base. He married Nancy Oertel shortly after enlistment in the Air Force and she traveled with him during his enlistment. They had eight children and lived in the Greenville area for over 30 years. After his retirement from Rich's Bakery in Appleton they moved to Bishop Lake in Nashville Township for nine years, they then moved to Lebanon Township. Robert loved gardening, lawn work, woodworking, general repair work, Thursday morning Bingo and fishing at their cottage. Robert is survived by his wife Nancy; two daughters, Pam (Steve) Barton; Panama City, Florida; Beth (Dave) Peters; Hortonville; five sons: Mark Visocky, Washington, DC; Kirk (LuWan) Visocky, Hortonville; Timothy (Lisa) Visocky, Hortonville; Barry (Bobbie) Visocky, Greenville; Douglas Visocky, Appleton; a daughter in-law, Marlene Visocky; two sisters, Vicki (Terry) Tierney, Virginia and Marlene Kettner, Mazomanie; two brothers-in-law, Howard Oertel, Middleton and Richard (Marilynn) Oertel, New London. 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Paul; granddaughter, Jessica; brother, Jim (Phyllis) Visocky; brother in-law, Tom Kettner; sister in-laws, Jane Oertel and Alice Friday and father and mother in-law, Howard and Mildred Oertel. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Lebanon with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Lally officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery. Cline & Hanson Funeral Home 209 W.
