  Richard M. Cate, age 81, of Waupaca, WI, passed away Tuesday, October 19th, 2004 in Waupaca. He was born in Oswego, New York on September 29, 1923, the son of Rupert and Alice (Southgate) Cate. He married Joyce Lesselyong on November 2, 1949 in Dubuque, Iowa. Richard served six years during WWII in the Flying Navy where he was on the crew of a PBY Submarine Hunter. He is survived by his wife: Joyce Cate, Waupaca, WI; five children; ten grandchildren; a brother and a sister. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements. "The family would like to thank Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice for all their loving care and concern."
