Subject: RE: NOONAN Births/O'Callaghan's MillsSome of these Noonans match up with Noonans who are buried at St. Patrick 's Catholic Church, Garryowen, Jackson County, Iowa:Patrick Noonan 1848-1938 born: County Clare married to Johanna Barry, Coun ty CorkFrom gravestone: Michael Noonan died Nov. 1, 1880 at the age of 43 marri ed to Catherine Griffin both of County Clare(AB: That would make Michael born in 1837 or so; should be easy to find wh ether Michael was son of Cornelius below)From gravestone: Cornelius Noonan died July 19, 1863 at the age of 50 (bor n: County Clare) married to Bridget McGinnis died March 29, 1889 (AB: Clea rly matches Cornelius below)From obituary: Daniel T. Noonan son of Cornelius and Bridget Noonan born C ounty Clare came to New York with parents when he was 3 years old (A B: If this is the Dan Noonan listed below, and if the obit is correct, th at means Cornelius and family must have left Ireland in the 1849-1850 ti me frame.) Family settled in Jackson County, Iowa, in November 1856.Died 1928 Daniel's daughter, Josephine Noonan, married James Boyle (AB: Ja mes was my grand-uncle, and there were several families of Noonans livi ng near where my great-grandfather settled ... which explains why I've be en keeping these records on Noonans)Maybe this suggests some new avenues for my own family quest ... tryi ng to figure out where Michael Boyle (my great-grandfather) was born in Co unty Clare in 1820. Did Margaret have any other family members who might ha ve immigrated at the same time with her? Do you have a record of the pass engers sailing on the James Cook in 1840, or know where I can find i t? I am looking for Edward Noonan born about 1825/30 in Clare and immigra ted to North America in 1840. He and his wife Mary had several childre n, one of whom is listed in the New York state census as having been bo rn in Canada. They eventually settled in Allegany, New York where the oth er children were born. Thanks,Barb
