My oldest relative in the Gonnering fam is Jacob Gonnering who ma rried Katherine Kiefer. Jacob was born in 1782 in Eisenbourn, Luxembour g. Together they had at least 5 children: Johann, Jacob, Nicolas, M.(?), P eter and Jean.I am in the line of Johann or John who married Katherine Vieter. I am pret ty sure that he is the one that came to the US in the mid 1850'sI have many names & would love to find out the connection between the Gonn ering families in WI if at all possible.Do you have any of the siblings of Johann M. Gonnering? He may have been t he brother of my Jacob. I got a note from one of my contacts about a mon th ago concerning the family of Wilhelm Gonnering along with 8 childre n. I am guessing this is your William. The reason I suggest this is that W ilhelm was said to have been born in 1803. The same DOB as your William. T hey came to the US in 1858 on the ship Fredrick Gebhardt.
