      xenagogue@aol.com 2000-04-26 02:12:49Peter Liebergen son of Cornelius and Petronella (Van De Hey) Liebergen mar ried Johanna "Jane" "Jennie" Van Laanen. Peter was born in December of 187 9.

      Peter's mother Petronella Van De Hey (spelling of maiden name varies) w as the daughter of John Henry Vande Hey and Bernardina Bouwdewijns. John H enry Vande Hey's ancestory is traced back extensively to Holland in two bo oks: Wooden Shoes West and On Good Ground. Both books are available fro m: St. Mary's Music, St. Mary Church, 1062 Charnelton Street, Eugene, OR 9 7401-3070.       Cornelius Liebergen was the son of Theodore Liebergen and Ceil Verbochel ( or VanBochel). Theodore Liebergen and, his second wife, Ceil "Nelly" Verbo chel were both of dutchdescent. Ceil had a daughter from a previous marrage to a Van Lannen nam ed Lena who married someone in Bay Settlement.

      Theodore Liebergen and Ceil had at least two children:1) Henery born 1847 (?) in Holland, married Mary Van De Hey (Mary and Petr onella Van De Hey were sisters)2) Cornelius "Nelles" born July 8, 1850 in Holland, married Petronella "El len" Van De Hey
      Cornelius was born in July 8, 1850 in Holland and was called Nelles by fam ily and friends. When he wasthree months old his parents arrived in America and settled in Bay Settlem ent, Town of Scott. Cornelius marriedPetronella "Ellen" Van De Hey (who was also of Dutch descent) on June 1 9, 1876 in Holland Town. She was18 years old. Cornelius and Petronella lived in Bay Settlement.
      Petronella was born on June 11, 1858 in Holland Town, WI to Ardina (Bouwde wijns) and John Vande Hey. Her father, John, was born on September 25, 18 13 in Zeeland Holland. After John's first wife, Johanna Maria van der Rijd t, died (leaving him with three small children), Bernardina "Ardina" Bouwd ewigns was hired to take care of the children. Four years later, John a nd Ardina married. Soon after their marriage, the family took the long a nd perilous journey to America.
      Cornelius died at the age of 76 from cancer of the liver on September 1 2, 1926. Petronella died in 1944 at the age of 86 of "old age" and is buri ed in Wrightstown.
      Cornelius Liebergen And Petronella Van De Hey had 10 children:
      1) John born September 22, 1877, married Nettie Kerhoff, lived in Wrightst own, WI, died in 1920
      2)Peter (1878- 1962)
      3) Mary born in 1881, married Peter VanEgeren, lived in Bay Settlement, WI :
      4) Delia born October 2, 1884, married Michael Heim, lived in Green Bay
      5 )Henry born June 28, 1888, married Elizabeth Baeten, and lived in Greenl eaf, WI. Years after Liz died, Henery married Martha Van De Hey - Leick, d ied 1976
      6) Martin "Mike"born October 1890, married Ann Baeten
      7) Dora born June 8, 1894, married Peter Kerkhoff and lived in Wrightstow n, WI
      8) Petronella known as "Nellie" born May 8, 1896, married Henry Louis Nack ers (1891-1979), lived in Kaukauna, WI, and died in 1967. Henry's paren ts were Victoria Meulemans and Joseph Nackers. His paternal grandparents w ere Albert Nackers and Mary Leone Meulemans
      9) William F. born December 21, 1898, lived in Green Bay, WI, and di ed in 1965.
