  Mrs. Henry J. (Caroline) Van Asten Route 2, Kaukauna Age 88, passed away Monday after a brief illness. She was born January 24,1886 at Freedom and had been a lifelong resident of the Freedom area. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. She is survived by five daughters,Mrs. Edward (Blanche) Van Handel of Rt. 4, Appleton. Mrs. Leo. V. (Mary) Vander Heiden, Mrs. Leo (Josephine) Micke, and Mrs. Joseph (Rosella)Vander Heiden. all of Rt 2, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Orville (Alma) Vanevenhoven of Kaukauna; two sons, Martin of Rt. 2. and William of Rt. 1,Kaukauna; two sisters; Sister Mary Blanche of Mount Calvary, and Mrs.Josephine Diedrich of Appleton: 48 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday from St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Freedom, with Rev. Alfred Hietpas officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 2 p.m. on Wednesday where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m. and a Christian Mothers Rosary at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
