  ANOTHER PIONEER WAS CALLED A message was received in this city Saturday morning last by Mrs. Ralph Mortimer informing her of the death of her uncle, Oliver Yule, at St. Mary's hospital at Oshkosh that morning. Mr. Yule had been in failing health for about fifteen years and his condition had become such that upon the advice of the physician he was taken from Appleton to the hospital for treatment a week before he died. Oliver Yule, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Yule, pioneer settlers of Chilton, was born on the homestead farm one mile north of this city on Sept. 1, 1856. There he grew to young manhood and took charge of the operation of the farm. In 1879 he was married to Nellie, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alva West. In 1911 they disposed of the farm and after living a short time on a farm on the Chilton Hilbert road, they moved to Omro and later to Appleton. In 1921 they located at North Fond du Lac. His wife died Feb. 15, 1925 and then Mr. Yule returned to Appleton to make his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ralph Gibson. Owing to the serious illness of his daughter and his condition he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Mr. Yule was an honest, upright citizen and enjoyed the respect and good will of his neighbors and all who knew him. He was industrious and until his health failed him took an active interest in his work and the community in which he resided. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. J. Ralph Gibson of Appleton, two sons, Gaylor Yule of Fond du Lac and Ceve Yule of Appleton and by his sister, Mrs. Pearl Herriman. Funeral services were held at Oshkosh on Monday afternoon and burial services were held at Breed cemetery later that day, but owing to impassable conditions of the road they returned to Oshkosh where it was placed in a receiving vault until the roads were passable.
