  Margaret M. BalesMargaret M. Bales, nee Cook, 97, of West Bend, died on Monday, March 1, 20 04 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital.She was born on Aug. 22, 1906 in Cudahy to the late David and Crescencia ( nee Kircher) Cook, and married Wilfred J. Bales on June 15, 1927 at St. Fr ederick Church in Cudahy. He passed away on Oct. 22, 1990.In the early 1950s the couple moved to Nabob where they owned and operat ed Bill’s Tavern and Dance Hall until 1956 when they came to West Bend.Margaret and her husband were the proprietors of Youth Towne until retiri ng in 1968. Margaret loved doing needlework, reading and playing cards.Survivors include three children, Rev. Robert Bales and Frederic (Chery l) Bales, both of West Bend, and Kathleen (Jim) Gottsacker of Eagle Rive r; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Grace Co ok of Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends.Peeceding her in death were a daughter, Nancy Mae, and a brother, Willi am Cook.A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Mar ch 4 at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.Rev. Robert Bales will be the principal presider, Rev. Gerald Brittain wi ll be the homilist, and The Most Rev. Timothy M. Dolan, archbishop of Milw aukee, will give the final commendation. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery.Visitation at the church only will be on Thursday from 4 to 6:45 p.m.Those who wish may give memorials to Holy Angels School Trust Fund. The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.
