  Knudson, Della S. (Kraus/Barbeau), Della S. Knudson, Neenah, cast her Walker aside and walked joyfully into the arms of her savior on Thursday, November 22, 2007. She was born on March 4, 1916, in Wayside, Wisconsin, daughter of the Arthur and Bertha (Siebert) Westphal. At age 15 she moved to Menasha and lived with an aunt and uncle and began working at George Banta Company. Della met Alois "Whitey" Kraus through a co-worker and they were married July 3, 1936, in Waukegan, Illinois. Together they had four children and worked hard to provide a good home. Whitey died at 36 leaving Della to raise the children on her own. She did her best and loved her children unconditionally. On April 10, 1958, she married Frank Barbeau and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1973. The following year she married Elery Knudson who loved her dearly until his death on May 16, 1989. Della enjoyed trips to the casino, going out to eat, playing Skippo with her friends at St. Mark's and her daily phone visits with her daughter Bev. After suffering a stroke she moved to the VNA and lived in Sapphire Villa. There she enjoyed bingo sessions and her noon meal with her friends. After a decline in health she moved to Coral Court. Survivors include her children, Beverly (Joseph) Wilfling, Neenah, Mary (Gary) Kostrzak, Seymour, James (Darlene) Kraus, Menasha; six grandchildren, David (Diane) Wilfling, Neenah, Daniel (Delores) Seidling, Benton Harbor, MI, James (Traci) Seidling, Neenah, Lynda (Jeff) Bader, Madison, Cheryl (Jeff) Peters, Neenah, and Bryan (Lisa) Kraus, Enterprise, AL; four great grandchildren, Dustin and Devon Wilfling, Cecelia Kraus and McKinna Peters. Della is further survived by a step-daughter, Sue (Don) Wallow, Gildden, WI; two daughters-in-law, Paula Kraus, Neenah, Judy Barbeau, Glidden, WI; and three very special cousins, Meinhardt and Gilbert Seibert, and Sylvia Eichorst. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kraus; a granddaughter, Jacqueline; brother, William; a son-in-law, Marvin Zuleger and a step-son, James Barbeau. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2007, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 118 Oak Street, Neenah, with the Rev. Milton Staskal officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Valley VNA or Immanuel United Church of Christ.
