  Joy Ann French, (Seattle, WA), Daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, friend, world traveler and animal lover departed this earth on June 14th. Joy was born on March 2, 1942, to Arliss and Frances (Sloan) French in Lena WI. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1960 and shortly after pursued her desire to become a flight attendant with Continental Airlines. Joy's career of 41 years took her to every corner of the earth including flying troops into Viet Nam. While battling cancer, for 23 years, Joy's love of life and spirit of adventure got stronger. Whether it was swimming with the dolphins, skydiving, going on an African safari, snorkeling with the whales or zip-lining in Maui, her passion always overrode her fears.It has been many years since Joy lived in Wisconsin, but she still considered herself a Midwestern girl. She loved holidays with family, helping her parents harvest maple syrup and Friday fish fries. Joy is survived by sister Kay (Arthur) Zimmer, Phillips Ranch CA; brothers: Jack (Cathy) French, Fairfax, Va, Gary (Carolyn) French, Buena Vista CO, Mark (Noreen) French, Appleton, Ron (Allyn) French, Sheboygan, WI, Curt (Patricia) French, Appleton and 18 much loved nieces and nephews. Joy is also survived by an 8-year-old name-sake, Joy Emily French. Internment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park. A private memorial will be held at a future date.
