Anna Albina Davis, age 97, of Hilbert, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at her home in Hilbert. She was born May 3, 1913, in the Town of Chilton, daughter of the late Michael and Albina (Kocherer) Hammer. She married Howard M. Davis on May 15, 1934, at the Ebenezer Parsonage in Chilton. The couple farmed together in the Town of Chilton; Howard preceded her in death on August 3, 1999. Anna was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ where she had also belonged to the Women's Guild. She also enjoyed singing, playing the mandolin, and traveling around the area in the fall to look at the beautiful colors of the leaves. Anna will never be forgotten for her love of cooking and her care and concern of others. She was at all times prepared to create a delicious, home cooked meal, for anyone who would stop by. Her hospitable personality and warm character remained with her through the end of her life. Anna's family was paramount to her in life; she sacrificed a lot to make the lives of her family better, and did everything she could to 'help the folks out.' Through all of life's challenges and bumps in the road, Anna's faith in God was never shook; she was a great example of true Christian living. Survivors include her son: Leonard (Nancy) Davis of Hilbert; a grandchild: Lori Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son: Evan (Barbara) Davis; two grandchildren: Dean and Jeff Davis; a sister: Mary; and five brothers: Joseph, Richard, Henry, Johnny, and Ed. Funeral service will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Ebenezer UCC (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with the Rev. Kathy Gloff officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011. Online Condolences
