  Anita Meta Plate, age 90, of Hilbert died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born November 10, 1920, in the Town of Chilton, daughter of the late Adolph & Minnie (Holst) Schroeder. She married Elmer Plate on January 17, 1942 at St. Luke Lutheran Church and the couple farmed together in the Town of Chilton. Elmer preceded her in death on December 24, 1983. Anita also worked a number of years at the Chilton Hospital. Anita was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert where she also served with the Ladies Aide. Anita enjoyed socializing with her many friends and she belonged to many card clubs in the area. Her caring personality positively influenced those around her and Anita's influence on others' lives will not be forgotten. She always loved a good meal, and took great pride in a clean house. Above all else, she adored her grandchildren and thought the world of every one of them. Survivors include her children: Ken (Sue) Plate, Hilbert, Kathy (Roger) Woelfel, Sherwood; three grandchildren: Dave (Charity) Plate, Brillion; Kim (Katie) Plate, Chilton; Amy (Mitch) Hutter, Madison; three great grandchildren: Dominick, Maxwell, Marshall, and a very special "sister": Verona Plate. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Elmer; and two brothers: Rueben and Norman Schroeder. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011 at St. Peter Lutheran Church (43 N. 3rd St.) in Hilbert with the Rev. Brian Crane officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
