  James "Jim" A. Born, age 82 of Clintonville, passed away Monday evening July 4, 2011 at his residence. Jim was born on October 7, 1928 in Clintonville as the son of the late August and Esther (Zarling) Born. He grew up in Clintonville where he graduated from Clintonville High School in 1946. As a young man, Jim enjoyed spending time at his grandparent's farm in the Town of Belle Plaine. After graduating, he served his country in the United States Army from 1946 - 1948. Jim then returned to Clintonville as a young man where he was employed at FWD Seagrave for forty years, retiring as Parts Supervisor in 1989. On December 29, 1956 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jean Erlandson in River Falls, WI. The couple has resided in Clintonville ever since where Jim has been active as City Alderman, a coach for Babe Ruth baseball, and was a member of the Clintonville Curling Club and American Legion Post # 63. He was also an active member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville where he served on the Board of Elders and as an usher among other positions. Jim was a knowledgeable man especially when it came to history. He was an outdoorsman and loved taking trips "Up North" and "Out West" hunting and fishing. Jim was also an avid sports fan and attended many a Green Bay Packer game over the years. Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Jean; two sons: Craig (Lori) Born, Lake Tomahawk and Bruce Born, Oak Creek; a grandson Trevor Born, Clintonville; a brother, Carson Born, Phoenix, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Born, Shawano. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Wesley and Gladwin (Theresa) Born, and a sister-in-law; Ardus (Alfred) Larson. Funeral services will be held Friday July 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Daniel Burns officiating. Interment will follow at the Graceland Cemetery also in Clintonville. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services.
