  Gerald J. Honkomp, 83 of Appleton died Wednesday January 25, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Wichita Falls Texas, August 5, 1928, son of the late Gerhart and Mary Louise (McIntyre) Honkomp. Gerald married Louise Pechacek on September 18, 1954 in Vernon, Texas. Gerald served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked at AirCo Welding Products for 26 years; he then went to work at Voith Paper for 18 years until he retired in 1993. Gerald was a long time member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton, where he greatly enjoyed being an usher and greeter, until his health declined. He was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan. He mostly enjoyed traveling with Louise to see their children and grandchildren in Colorado, Nevada, and Texas. Gerald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise; three daughters, Mary Meyers, Fruita, Colorado, Barbara (Burke) Hereford, Spring Creek, Nevada, and Elizabeth (Ty) Cheek, Millsap, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sue Honkomp, Appleton; three grandchildren, Scott Meyers, Kevin Meyers, and Lexie Cheek; two great-granddaughters, Mia, and Philisa Yesslith; two brothers, Bernard Bud, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Edward, Arlington, Texas; one sister, Sr. Theresa Honkomp, Fort Worth, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and good friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, George, granddaughter, Sarah Meyers, four sisters, Edith, Mary Margaret, Antoinette, and Rita; and one brother, Clyde. Funeral liturgy for Gerald will be held in June 2012 at St Therese Catholic Church, Appleton.

  Gerald "Jerry" Honkomp, 83, died January 25, 2012. A memorial Mass for Gerald will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at ST. THERESE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 213 E. Wisconsin Ave, Appleton with Fr. William Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the hour of service. Military honors will be performed after the service by the American Legion Post #38. Inurnment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery; Dallas, TX. Published in Appleton Post-Crescent on June 3, 2012
