  Wm. Fierke of this city died after a long illness last Sunday evening at the age of 72 years. Deceased was born in Germany in 1853 and came to his county with his parents in 1872 settling in Sherwood. He was one of the pioneer residents and industrious farmers of Calumet Co. residing on a farm in the town of Harrison nearly fifty years. Two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Fierke came to Brillion to live at the home of their daughter, Mrs. H. C. Ullrich. In 1880 he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Diehl, who now survives him. He is mourned by the widow, one sister, Mrs. Albertina Burchardt of Menasha, Five daughters, Mrs. H. C. Ullrich and Mrs. Arthur Mathes of Brillion, Mrs. Alfred of Woodville, Mrs. Peter Hopfensberger and Mrs. Rodney Grover of Junction City, also fourteen grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at St. Johannes Lutheran Church of Woodville on Wednesday afternoon, the deceased being a devoted member of that congregation. Brillion News / November 6, 1925
