  Find A Grave	Heinrich "Henry" Martin Baer was born in Brandenburg, Prussia (Germany), where he married Albertine "Bertha" Henriette Emmerich in 1852. Henry and Berta came to the United States about 1857 and settled in Wisconsin. Henry was a resident at Oshkosh, Winnebago County, when he enlisted as a private December 11, 1861, and was mustered into Company B, 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry. He also served in Company K. Private Baer was mustered out for disability February 11, 1863, and filed for a veteran's disability pension January 2, 1864. He received application No. 99,082 and certificate No. 103,845. After the war Henry remained in Oshkosh County for serveral years. He headed west in 1881, where he appears as a resident at Benson, Cochise County, Arizona, from 1881-1884. During this time he was a member of Tombstone's Burnside Post, Grand Army of the Republic. Henry had returned to Neenah, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, by 1890 (1890 Veterans Schedule). After his death Bertha filed for a widow's pension November 23, 1910, and received application No. 952,988 and certificate No. 715,470. --- Children: - Emil Heinrich (1853, Prussia) - Heinrich "Henry" C.
