  Robert J. Appleton "Bob" W3164 Cornell Court Appleton Age 66, died Wednesday morning, April 12, 2000, following a three-year battle with cancer. He was born July 18, 1933, to the late John E. and Sybella (Muench) Appleton, in Green Bay. Bob married Betty M. Kersten on September 10, 1960. He had been employed by Foremost Foods for 41 years, retiring in 1996. Bob enjoyed going up North to Lakewood, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Kimberly Knights of Columbus-Kimberly Council 4489 and a 50-year member and a past vice president of the Catholic Knights-Darboy Branch 271. Survivors include his wife, Betty M. (Kersten) Appleton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Diane Appleton, Town of Menasha; Keith and LeAnn Appleton, De Pere; a grandson, Jackson E. Appleton; two brothers and sisters-in- law, John and Wanda Appleton, Seymour; Eugene and June Appleton, Darboy; two sisters and brother-in-law, Irene Weiland, Kaukauna; Evelyn and Bill Blunck, Green Bay; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Reene) Kersten, Menasha; Jim (Marge) Kersten, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Hank) Canterbury, Arizona; and Joyce Kersten, Menasha. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patty A. Appleton, in 1980; a brother, Harold Appleton; a sister and three brothers-in-law, Helen and Ray Van De Hey, Henry Weiland and Tod Jahnke. The funeral Liturgy for Robert will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2000, at HOLY ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W5831 Highway KK, Darboy, with Father Tom Pomeroy officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Friday and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. A Parish Prayer and Scripture Service will be at 7 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund is being established. The family would like to express their gratitude to Drs. Thomas A. Ryan and John D.
