    • Ozaukee County Residents Observe 50th Anniversary Widely known Ozaukee County residents, Mr. and Mrs. John Crass of the village of Newburg, observed their golden anniversary Sunday with two events, a remarriage ceremony and an open house for about 500 relatives and friends. St. John's Lutheran Church, Newburg, scene of the original rites, also was setting of the remarriage ceremony Sunday. The day also was important as the 71st birthday anniversary of Mrs. Crass. The reception for the large group of well-wishers followed at the Fillmore Turner Hall from 4 to 9 p.m. For the past 44 years, Mr. Crass operated a hardware store at Newburg, and a son. Harold, their only child, is now a partner n the business. Mr. Crass has been a. member of the Newburg Fire Department for 46 years, serving as its treasurer since 1919 and as an engineer for 28 years. Since 1917, he has been caretaker of the Holy Trinity Church clock. Mrs. Crass, nee Marie Rau, was born in Newburg on July 21 1886, and her husband is a native of Fillmore, born Jan. 20, 1884. They were married by the Rev. J. Janke at the Newburg church on July 18, 1907, and settled at Newburg where they have coninued to live. Original attendants of the wedding ceremony in 1907 living today are Mrs. Bertha Eisenmenger of Newburg, and Mrs. Simon Albinger and Arthur Crass, both of Fillmore.
