  Lorraine Meta (Debban) Heling, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Appleton. Lorraine was born on August 14, 1928, to the late Robert and Mary (nee Radtke) Debban in the Town of Waukechon. On April 20, 1947, she was married to Milan R. Heling at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2005. Lorraine and Milan purchased the family farm from her parents and farmed for 41 years in the Town of Waukechon. Besides working the farm, she was an active member of the Shawano County Homemakers Association until her death. In their retirement they moved to their home near Bonduel where she enjoyed gardening and raising her horses. Lorraine was actively involved in the horse industry for over 40 years through the Shawano Area Horseman's Association, NEWPHA and WQHA. She was active in breeding, raising and showing Quarter Horses, organizing and managing local horse shows and promoting the local horse industry. Her love of horses brought her many close friends through the years. At the time of her death, she still had her favorite mare, Lil Red Bonanza. Lorraine is survived by her children: Mary Lee (Leon) Powell and Bruce Heling (special friend, Mary) of Appleton; Sandra (Terry) Doughty, Hortonville; Sharon (Jeff) Follendorf, Columbus, IN; Kurt (Dr. Rhonda) Heling, DePere; ten grandchildren: Travis, Justin and Brandon Powell; Rachel Heling (friend, Matt) and Cori Heling (friend, Rob); Bryan and Michael Follendorf; Joshua, Jeremy and Jennalee Doughty; two great-grandchildren, Cody Heling and Jaxon Ray Powell; brothers-in-law: George (Lois) Weisnicht, Shawano; Gerald (Ruth) Heling, Shawano; sisters-in-law: Virginia Utke (Don Tilligkeit), Shawano; Donna Heling, Shawano; Peggy Heling, Phoenix, AZ; special nephew, Scott (Mary) Weisnicht; a niece, Cinthy Helms (friend, Jerry); many other nieces, nephews and friends; two special cats and her dog Tipper. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milan; her brothers, Roger and Herman Debban; her two beloved sisters, Edna Weisnicht and Sylvia Lindner. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2006, at 11 a.m., at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Ronald Raddatz officiating. Family and friends may call on Friday, at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Special thanks to Dr. Fox, Barb Harr, Mavis Krueger, Carol Moede and all who have assisted the family.
