  Van Ryzin, Dorothy G.Dorothy G. Van Ryzin, of Appleton, age 91, died peacefully surrounded by h er family on Friday, October 28th, 2005, at Fox River Assisted Living. Dor othy was born June 7, 1914 in Hebron, Nebraska, daughter of the late Lo is and Glenn Fennel. She graduated from Appleton High School and in 1934 t hen married Mark Van Ryzin.She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Appleton. Dorothy's career e ncompassed a long stint as Dietician at St. Mary Grade School and as a Buy er at Pahlow's Luggage and Gifts. She also enjoyed volunteering at St. Jos eph's Food Pantry and at St. Elizabeth Hospital Gift Shop. Dorothy wi ll be remembered for many qualities, including her generous, giving hea rt and long lasting friendships (some lasting 75 years). And who can forg et her shrewd card playing, love of jazz music, and beautiful African Viol ets not to mention her dynamite chocolate cake.She will be greatly missed by her children: Sally A. (Jim) Johnson, of App leton; Kathleen A. Morrison, Venice, CA; Judith A. (Robert) Schmidt, Apple ton; Michael M. (Judith) Van Ryzin, Green Bay; and Mark T. (Rita) Van Ryzi n, Cypress, CA; grandchildren: Jeffrey Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Scott Joh nson, Peter Johnson, Joel Johnson, Anne Johnson, Mark Van Ryzin, Paul V an Ryzin, Kurt Van Ryzin, Kerry Gasman, Jeffrey Schmidt, Amy Hopfensperge r, Warren Van Ryzin, Emily Van Ryzin; great-grandchildren: Sara Rogers, Ju lie Johnson, Nina Van Ryzin, Kayla Mongan, Ricky Gasman, Alix Hopfen-sperg er, Abby Hopfensperger. She is further survived by many, many friends.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter Susan.A Memorial Service will take place 2 p.m. Thursday, November 3rd at St. Ma ry Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., Appleton, with the Rev. Michael O'Ro urke officiating. A celebration of Dorothy's life will take place at the S t.
