  Mrs. Mary Tieskoetter passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in New Hampton, Ia. Tuesday, April 15, 1930, death being due to a lingering illness of several months duration. Mary Schrandt was born March 14 , 18 51 in Liener, and Baptized March 16, 1851 in Lindern, Germany. At the a ge of fourteen years with her parents she came to the United States, arriv ing in this country in November, 1865. They immediately traveled to Winnes hiek County and settled here in November, 1865. April 20, 1869, she was un ited in marriage to Bernard Tieskoetter,at St. Mary's church in Festina, Ia. This union being blessed with thirte en children, four of whom dies in infancy. The surviving childrenare five daughters, Anna, Mrs. Fred Tekippe with whom she made her ho me at the time of her death; Katherine, Mrs. Theo Timp of Cascade Ia.; Fra nces, Mrs. Anton Becker of Ossian Ia.;Mary, Mrs. John Elpertof Curtis, Wis .; Dora, Mrs. Ben Bush of Festina, Ia.; and four sons Bernard Tieskoett er of Ossian; Henry Tieskoetter and William Tieskoetter of Decorah, Ia.; a nd John Tieskoetterof Calmar, Ia.. Her husband preceded her in death sever al years ago. She is also survived by on brother, Mr. William Schran dt of Festina, Ia.After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Tieskoetter moved on a farm near Festi na where they spend the years of their life till after the death ofher husband when she came to make her home with her daughter, Mr. and Mr s. Fred Tekippe and Family at Ft. Atkinson, March 1927.Mrs. Tieskoetter was a kind and loving mother, always concerned about t he welfare of their children. She was a member of the RomanCatholic Church and died well fortified with its last rates, a Requiem Hi gh Mass for the repose of her soul was celebrated in St. Mary's atFestina Ia., Saturday April 19,1930 at 10:30 A. M. Rev. A.J. Rubly , offic iating and burial was made in adjoining cemetery.The pallbearers were Mr. Alloys Tekippe, John Tekippe, Leo Becker, Herbe rt Timp, Joseph Tieskoetter, Arnold Tieskoetter, and LouisTieskoetter, crossbearer.Besides her children and brother, she is also sur vived by fiftyfour grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, a ho st of relatives and numerous friends.
