Christine Mary Lamers, 38, Waukesha/Columbus - passed away peacefully with sweetness in her heart and a pure soul at her home on June 15, 2007, after a courageous fight with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Christine was born on May 27, 1969, in Madison, Wis. She was the beloved and adored daughter of John P. and Margaret H. (Duenow) Tobison. Raised on a farm outside of Columbus, she attended the Columbus Public grade school and middle school, graduating from the Columbus High School in 1987. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated in 1991, with a BA in Consumer Science. On July 11, 1992, she married her loving husband, Scott Lee Lamers.All through her life Christine used her positive attitude towards life to help achieve her many goals. She had the proud honor of serving as Miss Columbus in 1986. She was the number one campaigner for the Lymphoma Society in 2006. Her love of beauty came through in her gardening and home decorating. Her strength and happiness was shared by her with all who knew her. Her family and friends were very important to her and she always made sure everyone knew they were special. Christine is survived by her beloved husband of 14 years, Scott Lamers, Waukesha; her precious children, Jonathan "Jack" and Madelyn "Maddy" Lamers; her mother, Margaret Tobison, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; siblings, Steven (Karen) Tobison, Columbus; Mary (David) Tornow, Neenah; Calvin (Elizabeth) Tobison, Carol Stream, Ill.; father and mother-in-law, Jay and Kay Lamers, Little Chute; sisters-in-law, Jenny (Michael) Van Grinsven, Wausau; Trisha (Craig) Quick, Menasha; and Polly Lamers, Chicago; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, John Tobison, on Dec. 14, 2006; and her grandparents, Carl and Minnie Duenow and Rasmus and Maude Tobison. Visitation will start at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007, with a service beginning at 11 a.m. at the Fox River Christian Church, Lawnsdale & Hwy 164, Waukesha, WI 53189 (262-544-6000).
