  Helen C. Schampers, 94, of Green Bay died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at a local nursing home. She was born March 21, 1911, in Green Bay to the late Anton and Lena (Brosig) Vannes. On April 10, 1927, Helen married Norbert Schampers at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1986. For 17 years she was employed at Burroughs and later at Tape, Inc. Helen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish. Helen is survived by her children and their spouses; Vernon and Helen Schampers, La Verne and Norris Daniels, Shirley Sprangers, all of Green Bay, Ronald and Mary Schampers, Abrams; her ten grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Norbert; a grandson Jim Schampers; two infant grandchildren; her parents; three brothers, and a son-in-law Gerald Sprangers. Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of 9th and 12th streets, on Monday from 9 a.m. to 11a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Msgr. John Dewane officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. The family of Helen C. Schampers wishes to thank the caring staff of Odd Fellows Home and Unity Hospice, especially Paula.
