Robert E. Jacobs, age 70, of 2400 Illinois Ave. New Holstein died unexpectedly Saturday March 26, 2005 at his home. He was born July 21, 1934 in Hilbert a son of the late Raymond & Veronica Micke Jacobs. He attended school in Hilbert. Bob served in the Army from 1954-1956. On April 19, 1958 he married Carol Werner in Oshkosh. He worked for Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein as a truck driver for 43 years after retiring he continued to work for Bob Miller Trucking in New Holstein. Bob was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, the Holy Name Society, St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Catholic Knights were he also served as secretary, the Hands on Reach Program and he was a retired member of the New Holstein Volunteer Fire Department. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed his Wednesday night card club, golfing, camping, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, had coached little league and was active in the Boy Scouts. Survivors include his wife Carol of New Holstein, two daughters; Sandra Le Claire and her special friend Jake Selissen of Green Bay, Lori (Dan) Lorenz of Pewaukee, three sons; Ronald (Cheryl) Jacobs of Pewaukee, Robert (Marcie) Jacobs of Pewaukee, Michael (Christine) Jacobs of New Holstein, fourteen grandchildren; Brad, Bryan, Morgan and Taylor Jacobs; Kevin & Allison Le Claire; Shaina & Derek Jacobs; Jacob, Kayla, Mckenna & Samantha Lorenz; Christopher Jacobs, four brothers; Roger (Darlin) Jacobs of Kewaskum, Hillard (Beverly) Jacobs of Chilton, Joseph (Cecelia) Jacobs of New Holstein, Kenneth (Debbie) Jacobs of Sun Prairie, three sisters; Virginia (Richard) Levash of Brillion, Rosemary (Ralph) Karls of Chilton, Anna Marie (Pete) Luxem of Kiel. He is further survived by his brother's and sister's in law; Gilbert (Sharon) Werner, Richard (Joan) Werner, Kathy Werner, Gene (Sue) Werner and Sandra Werner all of Oshkosh and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Dorothy, his father & mother-in-law Robert & Rosemary Werner and a brother-in-law Robert Werner Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday March 29, 2005 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Rev. Frank Weber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Ave. New Holstein on Monday March 28, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. and again Tuesday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home.
