  Charles E. Hurley "Charlie", 57, Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 1, 2013 at home. Charlie was born on August 24, 1955 in Janesville to the late George and Delores (Jacobs) Hurley; the family moved to Milton and eventually to Appleton in 1964. Charlie graduated from Appleton East High School in 1974. He started working at Jacobs Meat Market in 1973 and retired in 2010. Charlie was united in marriage to Sharon Bratz on June 28, 1980, and they recently celebrated 33 years of marriage. He was a Royal Ranger Leader at Home Church. Charlie delivered the Post Crescent for many years. He enjoyed John Wayne movies, hunting and fishing with the family, Shetland ponies, Mountain Dew and loved the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his wife Sharon; children: Emelia "Ellie" (fiancé Alfredo Quansah), Victor (Melissa) and their daughter Synthia, Michael "Mike", Sargaent Daniel; sister Debbie (Tom) Hurley Brooks; brother-in-law Tom (Judy) Bratz, father- and mother-in-law August and Esther Bratz; uncle Edward Jacobs and cousin Victor Pierce. His further survived by other family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and infant son Richard. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Home Church, 1215 Buchanan St., Little Chute, with Rev. Bruce Daley officiating. Visitation will be at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel, 606 N. Oneida St Appleton on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Published in Appleton Post-Crescent on July 3, 2013
