    Marlin "Gus" Paul, age 90, Bear Creek, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2014. He was born on April 14, 1924, in Bear Creek, son of the late Irvin and Clarice (Reinert) Paul. During his working years Gus farmed on the family farm. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed playing cards, driving tractor and watching all sports.
    Marlin is survived by his son Robert Paul (special friend Ellen), Bear Creek; stepson, Gary (Linda) Knapp, their children, Terry and Sara Shiocton; a sister, Carol (James) Heiser, Atlanta, GA and a brother, Roger (Karen) Paul, New London. He is further survived a sister in-law, Beatrice Paul, Bear Creek and by many other relatives and friends.
    He is preceded in death by his wife Carmen (2010), a brother Norman, and a sister, Margaret Pues.
    Funeral services for Gus will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Burial will be in the Shiocton-Bovina Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Pine Manor for the care and concern they gave to Gus.

    Obituary:
    Norman "Gabby" C. Paul, age 87 of the Town of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, passed away Wednesday morning July 10, 2013 at the New London Family Medical Center.
    As the son of the late Irvin and Clarice (Reinert) Paul, Norman was born on August 28, 1925 in Bear Creek. He graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1943 and began working on his family farm. He was united in marriage to Beatrice Flink on October 22, 1947, at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. The couple moved to their current residence upon marriage. Norman's passion was farming, and he never really retired from it. He did, however, work for 38 years in the construction industry for Courtney & Plumber Asphalt and later for Murphy's Construction. Norman was a current member of Grace Lutheran Church in Sugar Bush. He loved sports, playing cards, and was an avid outdoorsman especially when it came to hunting, fishing, or logging.
    Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Beatrice; his children, Garry (Debbie) Paul, Bear Creek; Judith Paul-Jones, Delaware; and Jeff Paul, Bear Creek; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nikki, Ashley, Jen, Becky, Kerri, Bryce, Sierra, Berkeley, Parker, Brent, Brandon, Abby, Megan, Aiden, Drew, Allison, and Jake; his sister, Carol (Jim) Heiser, Atlanta, Ga.; 2 brothers, Roger (Karen) Paul, New London; and Marlin "Gus" Paul, Embarrass.
    He is also survived by other relatives including nieces, Wana Bowen and Chris Casey.
    Norman was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Margaret Pues; and a sister-in-law, Carmen Paul.
    Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Sugar Bush, with Rev. Preston Heuer officiating. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.
    Friends may call from 4 - 8 PM Sunday at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville and at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the time of the service. An online guestbook can be found at www.eberhardtstevenson.com.
