I have two "distant" cousins on the Boyle side with whom I' ve been corresponding; I can forward their e-mail addresses.Bernard's age keeps flip-flopping in the censuses and records. My great A unt Helen Vandenberg Deering insisted that was over 26 years older than Ma ry McCann. The 1797 figure is from his tombstone in Freedom, Wi.Matilda was Matilda Ellen, so I think the 1870 census corrupted Matilda in to Idialia (4) and the 1880 census used her middle name, Ellen (24). I s ee that Isabelle became Bell, Juay got revised to Hugh.The mother, Mary McCann was born to Thomas McCann and Bridget Dougherty. T he tombstone lists her birth as 15 July 1825, but one source lists h er as 15 July 1829. Her siblings were Hugh McCann (1827-NY), Heney or He nry (abt 1828-NY), Margaret, b. abt 1832 in New Jersey), Michael/Michel ( b. 1834 in New Jersey), Isabella, (1838 in N.Y); Do you want to see the info I have on the Boyles???? I haven't done a great de al of research on the McCann branch of my tree but I will add any input th at I have. My records show Bridget to have died in Dec. 1868. I'm sure she is buri ed in St. Nicholas cemetery although the stone may no longer be present. T he parish wasn't fully established until the late 1860's so the recor ds at the church are not the best for this period. the Archdiocese in Gree nbay has better records. I got the date of death from records at the Outag amie County Courthouse in Appleton Wis. I have no info at all about the Ohio period except that Bridget and Jo hn Boyle were born in Ohio from the census records. Could you tell me wh at town St. Philip Neri Church is in? I have also failed to trace any Irish roots for the Boyles, McCan ns or Doughertys. Please let me know if this is of any help. Thanks JOHN Possibly related to O'Boyle who married family member
