  Clarence G. Lamers, 79, Gresham, passed away after a brief illness Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. He was born November 18, 1931, in Little Chute, to the late George and Agnes (Gerritts) Lamers. Clarence proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 18, 1955, he married Donna Schroeder at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. He owned and operated Lamers Construction in Shawano for more than 45 years. He was a life member of the Shawano VFW. His interests included: reading, camping, planting trees, water skiing and the Packers. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Donna, Gresham; a daughter, Brenda Lamers, Appleton; a son, Bruce Lamers, Gresham; a sister, Arlene Lamers, Little Chute; a brother, Ronald (Mary) Lamers, Appleton; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Diane. Memorial services for Clarence will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at the Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Friends may visit the family from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Valley Funeral Home 2211 N.   2005 Appleton post crescent dated 5/15/2005; Clarence and Donna Lamers a re celebrating 50 happyyears of marriage. After residing in Little Chute, and later Shawano, th ey now live in Gresham, WI where they enjoy their garden, woods and watchi ng the birds and other wildlife. The former Donna Schroeder became Clarenc e's bride May 18, 1955. Clarence was a self employed General Contractor a nd Donna was a homemaker and worked at The Shawano Evening Leader.
