- Joseph Henry Niesen, age 79, of Kaukauna, passed away Saturday evening, April 18, 2009, at Appleton Healthcare Center. Joseph was born on November 8, 1929, in Appleton, to John and Marie (Schubert) Niesen. Joseph was united in marriage to Mary J. Miller. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Packers and the Brewers. Joseph was very hardworking and generous; he worked at Thilmany for 42 years until retirement.
Joseph loved to travel with his wife, Mary. He will be remembered for all of the wonderful stories he told and the laughter that filled a room by his jokes.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Joseph is survived by his three sons: Paul, Tim (Gerda), and Brad Niesen; his niece, Janna (Dale) Davis; and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Vera; a son, Greg; and first wife Vernis.
A Funeral Liturgy for Joseph will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna. Fr. Marty Fox will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
