Alice C. (Kusserow) Conradt, 90, Shiocton, was taken peacefully and lovingly into her Lord's arms on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012. Although dementia and Alzheimer's disease had taken bits and pieces of her, her faith remained strong and unwavering. Embracing that comfort and peace she was taken into eternal salvation by the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is saved through faith alone. Alice was born on Sept. 19, 1921, in the Town of Lebanon, Waupaca County, daughter of the late Fred and Clara (Schroeder) Kusserow. She was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. She attended and graduated from New London High School in 1939. She attended and graduated from Teacher's College in Kaukauna and taught school in Sleepy Hollow School District and also substituted at Shiocton Public School for 33 years. On June 6, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harold Conradt at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Alice and Harold lived on the same farm for all of their married life near Shiocton. Harold preceded her in death on June 14, 2001. She loved to sew, patch and fix clothes. She also liked to play cards. She was a member of Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church in Shiocton and their Ladies Aid and also many Senior Citizen groups. She is survived by her three children, Ronald (Marilyn) Conradt, Shiocton; Marlin (Nancy) Conradt, Shiocton; Judy (Gary) Schroeder, Appleton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lainie and Michael Hintz, Alexander (Xander) and Nickolas (Nicko); Lindsey Roberts (special friend, Craig) and Madison; Graham and Shana Conradt, Jonah and Sawyer; Myriah and Shane Rankin, Grayson; Savannah and Justin Bailey; Wendy Schroeder and Henry Martin, H.J. and Max; Eric and Bethany Schroeder, Sofia and Sidney; Paul Schroeder; sister, LaVerne (Bill) Fredisdorf; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn (Vernon) Conradt. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her daughter, Lois; and three sisters, Ruby Schoenborn, Irma Handschke, and Frieda Jossie. The Christian Funeral for Alice will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church in Shiocton (W7574 State Highway 54) with the Rev. Bradley Ragner officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery in the Town of Bovina. A visitation for Alice will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Fox Valley Lutheran High School. The family would like to thank Dr. Barkmeier, the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Linda, Deb, Jodie and all who treated Mom like family and cared for her with love and respect.
