- Ashman, Dorothy M. (Meiers) Appleton
Age 86, passed away at Appleton Medical Center on Wednesday, November 09, 2005. She was born in the Town of Center on October 27, 1919, daughter of the late Karl and Margaret (Grota) Meiers. On December 18, 1937, she married Earlin A. Ashman. He preceded her in death in 2001. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Dorothy lived her entire life in the Town of Center. She and Earlin owned and operated their dairy farm.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Merlin (Evelyn) Ashman of Black Creek, Geraldine Smith of Shiocton, Jim (Barb) Ashman of Appleton; 16 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Elfrieda) Meiers; son-in-law, Gerald Haber; sister-in-law, Romelda Wirth; brother-in-law, Eldo (Marion) Ashman; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter Myra Haber; brother, Shirley Meiers; sister, Charlotte (Stanley) Mollett; sons-in-law, William Smith and Don Harrington; and brother-in-law: Edward Wirth.
The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton, with Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
