  Family History Researcher	Frederick D. Ecker was born Daniel W. Uecker on September 3, 18 54 in Germany. Little is known of the family of Frederick, or of the reas on that he changed his name.Frederick was the only surviving child of his family. He came to the Unit ed States with his mother, all his brothers and sisters having died in inf ancy or early youth. He and his mother settled near Ottawa, Illinois.On October 6, 1881, at Ottawa, Frederick married Rosalina Marohn. she w as born on January 15, 1862 at Parpart, Kreis Greiffenberg, Bezirk Stetti n, Pommern(Germany). Rosalilna was the daughter of Carl Marohn. Eight chi ldren wer born of this union.Frederick and Rosalina Ecker left Illinois and migrated first to Neillsvil le, Clark, WI., and then to near Appleton, Wisconsin. They were accept ed as members of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church of Appleton on April 2. 1905Rosalina (Marohn) Ecker died of tuberculoisis at Appleton, Wisconsin, on A pril 8, 1911. Frederick Ecker died at the home of his son Herman in the T own of Harrison, Calumet county, Wixsonsin on May 9, 1930
