  b>Burmeister, Josephine E.Josephine E. Burmeister, Mountain, 100 years, died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Birch Hill Care Center, Shawano. She was born March 12, 1906, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Martin and Madeline (Hauser) Schroeder. On May 24, 1923, Josephine married Roy Burmeister and he preceded her in death. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton. Josephine worked as a crossing guard for 18 years on the same corner of Marquette and Oneida Streets. Josephine is survived by her sons, Merrill Burmeister, Appleton; and Harland Burmeister, Mountain; foster son, Alan (Linda) Stuart, Hortonville. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband; five sons, Vilas, Lloyd, Roy, Jr., Gerald and Wayne Burmeister; four sisters, Leona Heiss, Loretta Mallard, Margaret Wichmann and Gertrude Horneck. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton, with Pastor Wendy Wirth-Brock officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
