- Leroy W. Thibodeau, age 85, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Monday evening, July 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born March 28, 1928 to the late Adeland and Laura (Schmitz) Thibodeau in Appleton. Leroy graduated from Appleton West High School in 1946 and enlisted in the Navy. He graduated from Fond du Lac business College and worked as a purchasing agent for Kaukauna Machine, later Giddings Lewis, for 38 years. Leroy was an avid golfer, golfing everyday. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was very active in St Pius X School and Church, but most of all, he will be remembered as a loving father to his children.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joanie, as well as his children; Nancy (Dave) Recker, Appleton, Jim (Kathy) Thibodeau, Appleton, and Linda (Rod) McClearn, Orland Park, Il. Leroy is further survived by his grandchildren; Nicole, Chris, Patrick, Laura and Keighly, great grandchildren; Kyan, Aiden Hadley and Max. He is also survived by his sister Jeanne Wilson and brother Vern (Risa) Thibodeau.
Preceding Leroy in death are his parents and his brother in law, Chet Wilson.
A memorial mass for Leroy will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at St Pius X Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Van Dynhoven officiating. Friends and family may call at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Leroy's name has been established.
