- Marvin Braeger, age 86 of Appleton, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013. He was born December 5, 1926 to the late Wilbur and Emma (Krause) Braeger in Appleton. Marvin worked for Bergstrom Paper Company for several years as a tow motor operator. He was a proud veteran, having served with the Navy at Iwo Jima.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janet, his children; David Braeger, Sheila (Robert) Gawinski, Glenn (Brenda) Mohrlok, and Gail (Gary) Nelson, his grandchildren; Tanya (Dan) Christian, Amanda (Ryan) Fink, Barry, Neil and Ryan Gawinski, Jason (Terry) Braeger, Jennifer (Bradley) Douglas, Candi (Xiong) Vang, Andrew (Katie Kessler) Mohrlok, Tiffany Mohrlok, Tami (Jason) Ladley, Keith (Dawn) Nelson, Joshua (Tammy) Nelson, Shane (Chrissy) Nelson, and Cory Hermes. He is further survived by 29 great grandchildren, his sisters; Adris (Ralph) Managan and Pearl Muffler, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, his son, James Braeger, brothers George, Merle and Wilfred "Bud" Braeger as well as his brother in law Gordon Muffler.
In Lieu of flowers, his family has established a memorial fund.
Funeral services for Marvin will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, August 16, 2013 at Valley Funeral Home with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 11:00AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery with military honors.
